The Print Task Cards app generates a set of printable cards for a given iteration. This is useful for creating a physical scrum or Kanban board on a shared wall when updating status in planning and check-in meetings.

Features

  • Each card contains the following data:
    • Task ID and story ID
    • Task owner and profile picture
    • Task name
    • Task description
    • Task estimate
  • Use the Auto Height setting to automatically adjust the vertical space of the app based on the amount of visible data

Note: When printing, force your printer into landscape mode to print two cards per 8.5in x 11in (letter) page.

Print instructions

Below are instructions for printing task cards depending on what browser you use. Note that as web browser software is constantly updated, these steps may vary between versions.

Note: If you have a choice of browsers, we recommend using Firefox for this app.

Firefox

  1. Select File → Page Setup.
  2. In the Page Setup dialog, select Landscape orientation.
  3. Make sure Scale is set to 100%. If Paper Size is an option, set it to US Letter.
  4. Turn off page headers and footers, or set them to blank.
  5. A pop-up window containing the page to be printed will display, along with a Print dialog.
  6. Click the Print button.

Chrome

  1. Select File → Page Setup.
  2. In the Page Setup dialog, select Landscape orientation.
  3. Make sure Scale is set to 100% and Paper Size is set to US Letter.
  4. A pop-up window containing the page to be printed is displayed, along with a Print dialog.
  5. Click the Print button in the Print dialog.

Safari

  1. Click Print Task Cards.
  2. A pop-up window containing the page to be printed displays with a Print dialog.
  3. In the Print dialog, select Landscape orientation.
  4. Uncheck the Print headers and footers checkbox.
  5. Make sure Scale is set to 100% and Paper Size is set to US Letter.

Internet Explorer 8 and 9

  1. Click Print Task Cards.
  2. A pop-up window containing the page to be printed displays with a Print dialog.
  3. In the Print dialog, click Preferences.
  4. In the Printing Preferences dialog, set page orientation to Landscape.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Select Letter for the Paper Size
  7. Set margins to 3/4" (top, bottom, left, and right).
  8. Ensure page size is 100% (no shrink to fit).
  9. Click the Print button.

Alternatively, you can cancel the Print dialog when it first appears, and then use File → Page Setup in the pop-up window to control the print settings. In this dialog you can also set the page margins, which should be 0.75" on all sides.
