Configure Your Subscription
Configuring your subscription includes the following:
- Manage your subscription
- Check which modules are enabled
- Export subscription data
- Subscription fields
Manage your subscription
Use the Subscription page to view and edit options for your CA Agile Central subscription. Edit and enable security options that apply to the entire subscription from this tab.
The Subscription detail page lists relevant information regarding your subscription (as read-only) such as:
- The products which are associated to your CA Agile Central subscription
- The state of Web Services for your subscription (enabled or not enabled)
To manage your subscription, select Actions → Edit Subscription. From the Edit Subscription editor, the subscription administrator can:
- Enable workspace admins to add users in their workspace.
- Enable project admins to add users in their project.
- Administer authentication methods.
- Apply custom page settings.
- Change password policies applied to all users accessing the subscription using the CA Agile Central password authentication method.
- Select the checkboxes to enable the custom App page feature. By default, this feature is disabled. Custom pages may only be shared within the same workspace.
- Deselect the Email Functionality checkbox to disable features that rely upon email, such as notification emails, automatic password changing, and welcome emails for new users.
IMPORTANT: Deselect this field if you do not have an operational email server. This enables you to create users and passwords without requiring email messaging.
You may further secure your subscription by implementing a password expiration policy. Enter the number of days until the user password expires. When the day limit has been reached, the user is prompted at login to enter a new password.
The new password policies are applied to any new user or to any existing user when their password is changed.
However, you can force all users to update their passwords and adhere to the new policies applied by enabling the Password Expiration policy and setting the Number of Days before expiration to 1. This will force all passwords to expire the following day, forcing all users to update their password and adhere to the new policies in place. Remember on the following day to reset the Number of Days before expiration to a desired length other than one day.

Each user receives a notification email each day for seven days prior to the expiration. This allows password updates prior to expiration and ensures that all integrations and Web Services API connections remain uninterrupted.
Check which modules are enabled
CA Agile Central Modules are additional feature sets in the application. Unlimited Edition subscriptions have access to all modules, while Enterprise Edition subscriptions may upgrade specific functionality through a purchase.
To see what modules are active in your subscription, click the Subscription tab and scoll to the Enabled Modules section:
|Integration Hub||Enabled on all Enterprise and Unlimited Edition subscriptions by default. Provides the ability to use supported integrations.|
|CA Agile Central Portfolio Manager||CA Agile Central Portfolio Manager lets you connect long term strategy with development execution, by providing an additional planning layer with executive reporting tools.|
|HP Integration||Provides a connection to your HP Quality Center environment. Map testing and defect data between CA Agile Central and HP QC.|
|IBM Integration||Provides a connection to your IBM ClearQuest environment. Map testing and defect data between CA Agile Central and IBM CQ.|
|CA Agile Central Idea Manager||CA Agile Central Idea Manager provides one or more websites that may be used to gather customer feedback. End users may access your site to submit and vote on new ideas. Proposed new ideas and features may be converted to CA Agile Central user stories.|
|CA Agile Central Quality Manager||CA Agile Central Quality Manager provides you with a way to create independent test cases that are not associated to user stories or defects. You may also organize and schedule groups of test cases with this module.|
|CA Agile Central Support Manager||CA Agile Central Support Manager connects your Salesforce.com environment with user stories and defects in CA Agile Central. You may connect Salesforce support cases to CA Agile Central defects, for example, to track how many customers have reported a specific issue.|
|CA Agile Central Time Tracker||CA Agile Central Time Tracker provides timesheet functionality for accounting purposes. Employees and contractors may enter billable hours against assigned user stories, defects, and tasks.|
|Part of the CA Agile Central Advanced Security and Administration module, these entries provide administrators with the ability to connect user login credentials to a identity management server, filter access by IP range, and control what filetypes may be attached to work items.|
Export subscription data
You can export your entire repository data to an XML format. Contact Support, and they will assist you in exporting your subscription data to XML. When you request the export, our technical support engineers export your data and send you an email once the export is completed. The email contains a password-protected .zip file. CA Agile Central Support will then call you and provide the password.
|ID||A read-only field that displays your CA Agile Central-generated subscription ID.|
|Allow Custom URL App||Select this box to allow users in the workspace to create apps that link to internal or external web pages.|
|Allow enhanced user capabilities through Web Services||Select this box to allow workspace and subscription administrators to edit user data through the Web Services API. IMPORTANT: Disabling this option will prevent administrators from inline editing user data and deleting users on the Users summary page. Users with viewer and editor permissions may also have access to advanced user queries through the WSAPI.|
|Authentication||Select a value from the drop-down list to set the authentication method to be used for your subscription. You can choose CA Agile Central, SSO, or either/or as your authentication method. Requires Advanced Security and Administration. (Note: The CA Agile Central Workitem connectors and the CA Agile Central SCM connectors are not compatible with this feature; however, these connectors can be used in SSO Exception Mode)|
|IP Range||When using Advanced Security and Administration, you may allow all IP addresses to log in, or define a set or range of IP addresses.|
|Allowed File Attachments||When using Advanced Security and Administration, you may allow all file extensions, or define a set of allowed file types that can be attached to work items.|
|Session Timeout||Select the amount of time of inactivity before a user is logged out of CA Agile Central.|
|Email Functionality||Select this box to enable email-dependent features such as notification emails, automatic password changing and, welcome emails for new users. By default, this box is selected and email features are enabled. IMPORTANT: Clear the Email Functionality checkbox if you do not have an operational email server. This enables you to create users and passwords without requiring email messaging.|
|Disabled Users||Select this box to send an email to users to notify them when their account has been disabled. Note: an email will be sent to disabled users even if the Email Functionality checkbox is not selected. This box is selected by default.|
|Disabled Login Attempt||Select this box to send an email to disabled users upon login to notify them that their account has been disabled.|
|API Keys Enabled:||Select this box to enable or disable API keys at the subscription level. This ensures that the subscription set-up is in-line with the company's policy for API key usage.|
|Workspace Admins Can Create New Users:||Select this box to allow workspace admins to add new users for their respective workspaces.|
|Project Admins Can Create New Users:||Select this box to allow project admins to add new users for their respective projects.|
|Project Admins Can Enable and Disable Users:
(also applies to workspace admins)
|Select this box to allow project and workspace admins to edit the enabled/disabled setting of users in projects they administer.|
|Project Admins Can Create New Child Projects:||Select this box to allow project admins to create new child projects, which reside under projects they administer.|
|Password Expiration|| Enabled - Select this box to enable password expiration for your subscription.
Number of Days - Indicate the number of days for which a password is valid. When a password exceeds the number of indicated days, the user is prompted upon login for new password.
|Minimum Password Length||Enter the minimum number of characters of a valid password for your organization. Valid lengths are 8–20 characters.|
|Required Password Rules||Select the number of random rules to apply to passwords for this subscription. The more rules applied, the more secure your password becomes.|
|Maximum Failed Login Attempts Before Lock Out||Input the number of invalid login attempts a user can enter before being locked out of the subscription. Valid numerical entry for this field is from 3–99. If any other value is entered, an error message informs you of the limits.|
|Amount of Time Users will be Locked Out||Click the drop-down arrow and select the length of time the user is locked out after the number of invalid login attempts has been exceeded. If the subscription has email notifications enabled, the user will receive an email stating they have been locked out and the length of time they are locked out per the subscription configuration.|
|Number of Previous Passwords to Track||Indicate the number of previous passwords that may not be used as a current password. The number entered is in addition to the current password. For example, if three is specified, the user cannot reuse the current password or the previous three passwords.|
In addition to the active fields on this page, this page also displays the following information regarding your subscription in a detail view mode. These fields are set up by CA Agile Central when your subscription is created based on your contractual agreements.
|Maximum Private Tabs/Pages||A read-only field that indicates the number of private custom pages your subscription allows. A value of -1 indicates unlimited pages, which is the default for all Enterprise and Unlimited Edition subscriptions.|
|Maximum Shared App Tabs||A read-only field that indicates the number of shared custom pages your subscription allows. A value of -1 indicates unlimited pages, which is the default for all Enterprise and Unlimited Edition subscriptions.|
|Web Services Enabled||A read-only field that indicates whether you have Web Services capabilities for your subscription.|
|Enabled Products||A read-only field that indicates the products that have been activated for your subscription.|
